In the 5+ years of driving my Mazda5, today was the first time I saw another one with a manual transmission, or as my service advisor called it, a hand buzzer. They may be more common in other parts of the world, but in the US they’re more rare than hen’s teeth...

‘Hand buzzer’?
Just had a look on Autotrader U.K. for the Mazda5.
Out of 207 Mazda5s, five are autos.
No autos on Autotrader from 2011.

We only got the 2.5l petrol engine over here, with 95%+ of those being auto. Up north in Canuckistan they got the best of both worlds, with the 2.5 and lots of manuals, including availability in the TOTL Grand Touring trim; in the US you could only have the manual if you bought the bottom-level Sport trim, and I willingly gave up the toys to get that slick 6MT.
